One of the reasons anti-Hindu/anti-India groups succeeded in passing resolutions on India's internal matters in city councils around the U.S. is undoubtedly that local governments are aware of them and their priorities more than Hindu-Americans and theirs. One way to avoid the same pitfalls in the future is to make local and state governments know that we are not just successful in the workplace but have other priorities as well. This will make politicians take Hindu sentiments and priorities more seriously in the long run. I hope you all realize how urgent this is given the recent mischief done at the "Dismantling Global Hindutva" conference.
Recently, a coordinated effort by various Hindu groups has succeeded in getting proclamations from 10 governors (TX, OH, NJ, MA, GA, FL, MN, VA, NV, DE) and several mayors to declare October as Hindu Heritage Month. I hope you will try to reach out to your local mayors to do the same. You can use the templates here as guidance and share a draft of the proclamation to your government official when you make the request. https://hindumonth.org/
