Dear fellow Americans,
Please stop using the word "Guru" flippantly and negatively while talking about experts who sell their expertise.
Gurus are revered spiritual teachers in Hinduism, Buddhism & Sikhism akin to rabbis, pastors, etc
Why the lack of respect for Hindu teachers?
In popular discourse, the term "guru" is often used in a flippant or casual manner to describe someone who is an expert or highly skilled in a particular field. It has become a somewhat trendy or colloquial term to describe individuals who are knowledgeable or accomplished in a specific area.
However, it's important to note that the term "guru" originates from Hinduism and is traditionally used to refer to a spiritual teacher or guide. In Hinduism, a guru is considered to be a revered figure who imparts spiritual wisdom and guidance to their disciples
I have found the Guru to be the most important factor in my seeking for truth. I can name quite a few of them who have influenced me, some I have met personally, and some I have followed online. A true Guru is the greatest spiritual gift a person can receive in this lifetime.
