Let me start my journey here by saying that a Hindu, anywhere, should never, and i say NEVER, consider any other culture higher than their own, because there isn't a better culture than Hindu. Yes, we have made mistakes in the past, yes we have a lot to learn, but, be proud that your ancestors withstood their values when the whole world was being taken over by sword from the abrahamic faiths.
I see a lot of Indians living abroad who have an identity crisis and they try to act 'white', or 'black' etc. This will NEVER bode well for them. People may act like your friends but trust me, you'll always be the butt of the joke for them. Just act according to your ancestory. You'll always remain an Indian for them, why not wear it comfortably? They may take time to adjust, but you'll eventually gain respect.
Hindu, And Proud!!
